Technical Skills

Details:
Purpose: To tutor adults on basic computer skills in a not-for-profit open lab and assist in a classroom setting.

Major Responsibly:
•Assist a culturally diverse client base with varying computer literacy skill sets to gain and improve their knowledge of computers, computer systems, Microsoft office products and the Internet.
•Register new clients, tutor new clients (one on one), assist in classroom, and keep track of hours.

Qualifications Needed:
•Good interpersonal and communication skills
•Individual should be organized, reliable and work well independently
•Individual must be comfortable working with a culturally diverse community
•Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and peripherals (ie. Printer, headphones) problems
•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, networks, Internet, e-mail and commonly used Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, etc.
•Previous experience tutoring, mentoring or teaching would be helpful.
•Bilingual, English Spanish, could be helpful

Training Provided & Support Plan:
•Waite House and lab orientation will be provided.
•On site Lab Associate will be on hand to answer questions and guide classroom activities.
