Details:
Project for Pride in Living (PPL) Youth Development strives to empower students from low-income families living in PPL housing to achieve success in school and in life through academic support and hands on enrichment opportunities.
Tech Time Volunteers are needed to work with PPL Scholars (1st-5th grade) after school groups that will be participating in basic computer literacy and internet safety trainings at the PPL Learning Center. Youth will learn to use the Internet, Word and other software to create a group project.
PPL Staff will be on-site each evening to lead Tech Time and support volunteers.
TIME AND COMMITMENT: Nov 7th – Dec 5th and Jan 9th - April 2nd Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 6:30pm
LOCATION: PPL Learning Center, 1925 Chicago Ave S, Mpls 55404
VOLUNTEERS WILL: • Work 1:1 with youth to explore technology and gain new computer skills • Assist youth with internet research and project design • Serve as a positive adult role model • Assist PPL Staff in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for youth
